This is a review based upon the BluRay version of this release.
Note that this is not a traditional concert recording, recorded [perhaps] over one or more nights in one location.
Rather, this a compilation of different shows, all held in Vienna, on different nights... with some
minor exerpts from different cities around the world (these exerpts acting as background info) where the JSO has toured.
There is a narrative of sorts, so it does all flow together...
The major difference between this and other videos (or live concerts) will be a greater emphasis on music and less on the fun interaction that can happen with the audience - a plus or minus, depending on your taste.
This release also acts to support an Audio CD with the same name - or maybe this video supports the audio CD. You decide.
For me, two highlights :
1) Seeing/hearing a waltz composed by Sir Anthony Hopkins (?!), played by the JSO, with Sir Anthony and his wife present - for the first time in public.
Both the music and the shared joy were extremely moving...
2) Absolutely gorgeous audio recording, with DTS sound... I've been fortunate to attend several concerts in different locations, with the audio CDs usually having better sound quality. That said, the
acoustics of the Vienna locations lend themselves to fabulous musicality... in a reversal of normal, I.e. a concert will usually sound worse than the studio recording, I found that the live sound seems better...
All in all, this BluRay was/is a pleasant surprise...

If you love music, you must also love the smooth music of an Waltz. No one plays them like Andre Rieu and his orchestra.
Then to see the various members of his orchestra play this beautiful music. You'll want to turn down the lights, with you favorite
drink in hand, and maybe that special someone next to you. You'll find yourself up and in each others arms as you join in.

This is one of the best of his DVD's. We enjoyed the scenic scenes of Vienna. I wish it were in English.

Beautiful violin waltz music. Entertaining also.
If you like Andre Rieu, you will love this DVD.
Almost like being there.

My grandparents love Andre Rieu, so when I found out this DVD was not in their collection yet, I made sure to buy it. It came fast without any hassle and what a surprise... they phoned me up straight away saying how wonderfull and brilliant this DVD is. From what they told me it is almost 3 hours of pure music which is exactly what I was hoping for... if you know of an Andre Rieu fan... this would be the ideal gift !!!

BLURAY EDITIONS THAT DON'T IMPRESS US SO MUCH. I DON'T MEAN THEY AIN'T GOOD, JUST DESERVES BETTER STANDARDS, NOT ONLY USE BLURAY DISCS OR FULL-TACKED DVDS, WE SOMETIMES NEED MORE SINCERITY.
